The Great Disruption

Just look at what has come of all of us in America. We are one of the biggest consumers in the world. We buy new products at an alarming rate, and tend to forget about reusing our old products that are evidently efficient. I think the expression "Go big, or go home," has had a profound effect on some of us. We always seem to be in need for the newest phone, car, and computer. I think we tend to forget exactly what happens to the forgotten and the unwanted.

Thomas Friedman talks about the Great Disruption in his energy aware news column, where mother nature and father greed hit the proverbial brick wall at the same time. Deforestation, water Scarcity, poverty, and unemployment are all at their highest levels to date. We have to change the whole entire system in how we live our daily lives. Most of our automobiles, electronics, toys, and clothing are all produced overseas, and still we consume most of the worlds energy.

As Americans, we have relied to heavily on foreign imports, and have done nothing to try and create factory jobs here on our home front. We need to start conserving more at a drastic rate if we are still considered the top leader of this world.
