This is an awesome idea for India to introduce affordable solar powered rickshaws for the public. The solar energy charges the bikes internal electric motor in between your pedaling.
Soleckshaws are an amazing step forward, but in this euphoric hype several important issues and questions are conveniently pushed under the rug: the soleckshaw is about three times as expensive as the cycle-rickshaw ($440 (Rs. 22000) as against $170. I hope we start seeing stuff like this in America, the constant noise and pollution from vehicles has made me to only ride my bicycle during the non winter months.
